Carl Joseph

Carl is a biblical scholar, minister, husband, father and life coach. In his mid-twenties he had a powerful encounter with God and saw miraculous healings as a result. He passionately shares these stories and empowers others to fulfill their God-given potential.

God made us righteous by Christ’s atoning blood sacrifice.  Many Christians still hold on to a stubborn ‘sin consciousness’ which identifies them with their past. Despite Christ’s once and for all sacrifice, they still feel guilty of past sins. This shameful demeanor can only overcome by embracing ‘righteousness consciousness.’ Carl shares the importance of past tense declarations as a reminder of Christs victory on the cross and the many spoils, already in our possession. You are not ‘going to be’ righteous in the ‘sweet by and by;’ you are already the righteousness of God, right now! Get ready for a powerful transformation in this, the last of the series. Let’s join Carl now…

Here is a complete transcript of the broadcast (below)…

Friend, this is the fourth and final part of my message Faith, Hope and Love. Now, in the previous few days, we started talking about faith. Faith is the substance of things, hoped for. Hope comes first. If we don’t have hope, we don’t have an anchor from which we can give substance for faith. Hope is tied to the imagination. And then comes love, that is, God’s unconditional, agape love. And it’s hard to describe, friend. It is unconditional. God loves you regardless. These three things are co-joined together. They work in unison. Now, towards the end of this broadcast, I have a series of confessions that I’m reading, 39 in total, from your bountiful inheritance, that I ask the congregation to repeat after me.

And friend, if you’re driving, if you’re just listening right now to this message wherever you are, what I’d like you to do is I’d like you to repeat what I say, therefore activating your knowledge of righteousness and embracing that righteousness consciousness. I’d like you to speak it out loud over yourself, because you believe more what you say than anybody else. Join me now. When you were born again, your spirit man went from death into life. And then from the connection of your spirit man to the Holy Spirit, all of these aspects of God flow out of you, right? We don’t get up in the morning and go, right, today I’ve got to work in faith and love and hope. Okay, now I know my faith scriptures, yes.

I know my hope scriptures, yes. And then you go to work and then someone taps, what about faith, brother? Oh, I’ve forgotten the scripture. Ah! You know, don’t freak out, okay? It comes from the inside and works outward, right? As we surrender to the Lord and say, Lord, help me today. It’s as simple as that. Help me to move in love with people I don’t necessarily like. Help me to believe for this and that. Amen? Sin consciousness versus righteousness consciousness. And this is when we’re getting down to the brass tacks. It’s right here on this slide. What category are you in? You can read some of these for yourself. Sin consciousness says, I’ll never be good enough, no matter what I do. My past is following me around.

I can’t shake my past off. I feel condemned. I have a thorn in the flesh. I feel like God is judging me all the time. I’m scared of God. I’m warring in the heavens every day. Every day I fight, I put on my armor. I’m warring in the heavens. And by the end of the day, I’m absolutely exhausted. Is that helping anybody? I defend myself. Well, we’re going to read some of these in a minute. I strive to succeed. Why do people strive to succeed? Because they think their value is in doing something. I like what Joyce Meyer said. She said, we’re human beings, not human doings. I’ve got to make things happen. Well, why are you making things happen? Well, I don’t trust God to make them happen. That’s why I’m doing it.

God gives sickness for testing. I love those who love me back. Well, praise the Lord, pastor. You love those who love you back. I feel cursed. Something is missing. Something is missing in me. I’m just not right. Something’s missing. Ignore this side, friends. Tonight, we are entering into this side. I embrace conviction. Ouch. I embrace conviction. I just pull open the shirt and say, Lord, here’s my heart. Do what you want with it. That’s the attitude. My sins are forgiven. My sins are forgotten. They’re forgiven and forgotten. The only people who remember sins are the devil and other people. God has forgotten them. He has chosen to forgive them. Okay.

They’re in the sea of forgetfulness. Amen? Amen. I forgive myself often. How dare you judge yourself as you not another person? Some people in this room are judging themselves really badly. They would beat up on themselves. They’d never say half of those things to somebody else. If we recorded what you were saying over yourself, you would be ashamed. I have authority and power in Christ. My father loves spending time with me. Me and Jesus are just hanging out. That’s just blasphemous, brother. Jesus is so busy. He doesn’t have time for you. Some people think like that, right? He’s omniscient. He’s omnipresent. He’s everywhere. He knows everything so he can hang with you at any time, right? God is my avenger. I rest in God’s provision and peace.

I don’t have to defend myself. I let peace be my umpire and my guide. I love my enemies.

It’s not always easy, but the Holy Spirit empowers me to do it. Sickness is a curse and I’m redeemed from it. Whoa. Why embrace curses that you’ve been redeemed from in your mind? I am content. I’m content if I achieve nothing more in this lifetime. If the Broncos never win the Super Bowl again, I have learned to be content. The truth is every phase of life has a challenge to it. In our heads, we’re thinking, well, if I can only get there, get all that plastic surgery and all that money, I’ll be happy, right? Friend, the people who’ve got all the plastic surgery and the money are not happy. Newsflash. That’s a lie from the pit. So look at that right now. The Holy Spirit is going to challenge you in some of these areas. The Holy Spirit is challenging you right now. There’s some things on that board that you’ve actually believed and you believed a lie and we’re going to break that tonight. Amen.

We’re going to break it by confession. We’re going to believe in our heart and we’re going to say it out loud and we’re going to break some of this stuff. We’re going to put some substance to our faith and we’re actually going to say it. Okay. Now it’s okay to say some things, but in a week’s time when you’re tested on love your enemies or you’re tested on remembering your past, that’s when you’re going to rise up and say, no, my past is in the sea of forgetfulness. God is causing me to love other people. Amen. There’s going to be a test to the word understandably, but with knowledge comes understanding and with understanding comes wisdom and with wisdom comes application. Okay. Hand out time. Your homework is to study your hand out, which is right there. This is very serious.

Many Christians go through life and they never even grasp this. Okay. Now, years ago, a guy called Kenneth Hagen, you may or may not know him, went through the New Testament and he underlined all the scriptures that said in him of Christ, when we were a part of Christ or where we were attached to Christ or where it showed us what we were a part of, he underlined it. And that’s what you’re looking at right now. You’re looking at the manifestation of someone’s homework where they found the things that we’ve been redeemed from, etc.. Right? So meditate on God’s word.

See yourself in this passage. We have an identity crisis in Christianity. We need to solve that crisis. How do we do it? We meditate. We don’t sit there against the wall going, um, that’s not meditation. Meditation is murmuring the word of God. That’s what it says in the Hebrew. If you look it up, if you look at in Joshua 1:8, it says ‘murmur’ under your breath. That’s what meditation is.

You are saying what God said about the situation instead of your circumstances. Okay. And again, like I said before, when you judge someone else in the same way you judge yourself, I was a really critical person. Uh, that’s something that, you know, would come back if I don’t watch it. And my lovely wife has helped me with that. Amen. She says, you’re so nice, baby. Just don’t think about it. Don’t say that. Okay. Maybe she really believes it. You know, when you accuse others or yourself, you’re doing Satan’s job. Whoa. Jesus is the defense attorney and Satan is the accusatory attorney. He’s the attacker.

Right? So all we say, whenever we get into an argument with Satan, okay, we simply say the word back in Luke chapter four, Matthew four, when Satan tried to accuse or tempt Christ, what did Jesus do? He quoted the book of Deuteronomy back three times. He was testing him in the areas of the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. Those are the three areas that Satan tries to get at us. But if we know the word of God, we can quote it back to him. Case closed. You don’t want to get into a conversation with the enemy. He’s very good at it. Oh, remember when you did that? Oh yeah. That was really bad, wasn’t it? Yeah, it was.

Some people were hurt. Yeah, they were. Yeah. You know, I don’t think God loves you if you hadn’t have done that. Maybe he’d love you like he used to. Yeah, maybe. Yeah, that’s probably true. So be careful the conversations that you’re having in your mind. Right? Someone said, worry is carrying on a conversation with the enemy. That’s the definition of it. Worry. Okay. So you’ve got it in front of you. Amen. These handouts. So what we’re going to do right now, if you’ve never done this before, it may seem a little different. We’re going to confess some of these.

We’re going to put some faith behind what it says. We won’t do all of them. So let’s enter into a time of prayer. Father God, I thank you right now for the people here tonight. And you have spoken to them and you will continue to speak to them about the truth over the situation of their lives. And they will not believe the lies of the enemy no longer in Jesus name. But tonight we embrace righteousness, consciousness. Amen. Say it after me.

“I”‘m a child of God. I’m redeemed of God. I’m redeemed from the curse of the law.

I am justified by grace. I am sanctified. I’m a new creature in Christ Jesus.

I have a new nature on the inside of me. All things are passed away. All things become new.

I have been delivered from the powers of darkness. I’m a child of God. I’m a son of God.

I am kept in safety. I am safe in the presence of the Father. All of my needs are met.

I cast all my cares. Some people think that they’re lying to themselves right now. While we’re reading these out, they go, man, I just feel like I’m lying to myself.”

The reason it feels like that is because the truth is hard sometimes to hear out of your own mouth. But you believe more what you say than anybody else. Think about that. You believe more what you say about yourself than anybody else. Someone could just come up here and say, you’re this and that and ‘blankety blank,’ and you’re a liar, and you’d be like, whatever, whatever, because you don’t believe it. But it’s time to start believing the truth.

We need to get this from here into here. This thing is never spoken to me. It’s very quiet, okay? It doesn’t say anything. When the word is spoken, it becomes a ‘rhema,’ right? The Logos is the summation of God’s oracle of God. The ‘rhema’ is the spoken word, right? Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. If you look at that word, word, in the New Testament there, that’s ‘rhema.’

Man, lives by the spoken word. Ooh, man, that’s powerful. Get a hold of that.

I am strong in the Lord and the power of I am an heir to the blessing of Abraham.

I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. I am healed by his stripes.

I am above only and not beneath. I am more than a conqueror. Do you know what more than a conqueror is? When Mike Tyson comes home and he gives the check to his wife, she’s more than a conqueror. Get ready. I am an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony. I do not move by what I see. I walk by faith and not by sight. I cast down vain imaginations. My mind is renewed by the word of God.

Amen. Why? What are we basing it on? We’re basing it on the word. That’ll be 2nd Corinthians 5:21, “You are an imitator of Jesus and you are the light of the world.” Friends, get a hold of this tonight. When you’re in your private devotional time, I beg you to underline these in the Bible and see yourself as you truly are. On our website, it’s called Your Bountiful Inheritance, because many people don’t know their inheritance.

When someone dies, they give you a will, right? Okay, what did I get? What did I get? You got all this. This is what you got. Amen. And it’s a tragedy if we don’t take it. Isn’t it tragic if we don’t take what was rightfully ours?
